Description

National Park Entrance Fees (subject to change)

The tour price does not include park entrance fees. On the Yellowstone tour, purchasing entrances to both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are required because the tour route enters Grand Teton en route to Yellowstone.

If you already have a valid National Park pass, please bring it! If not, you can purchase one at each park entrance gate as you go through. Here are various entrance pass options:

  • Children 15 years old and younger are FREE.
  • $20 per person for park entrance for ages 16+ - covers one person for both Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and is valid for one week for multiple entry to the two parks.
  • $50 vehicle pass for the two parks, valid for 7 days. On a commercial tour like this one, vehicle passes are only valid for one family, not for other non-family members riding in the vehicle. Non-family members ages 16+ will have to purchase individual park entry.
  • $10 senior lifetime pass (ages 62+) - covers one US citizen and 3 other people traveling with the pass holder; good for all national parks. Must show driver's license or US passport to verify citizenship.
  • Annual National Park passes - $80 per person covers ALL national parks (fee for a single park is $60).

Yellowstone National Park Tour

From Jackson, the tour drives through Grand Teton National Park on the way to Yellowstone, taking in the majestic Teton Range and spotting wildlife such as moose, elk, coyotes, eagles and osprey. There's a stop at historic Jackson Lake Lodge to “water the horses,” and look for wolves and bears from the vantage point of the famous Jackson Lake overlook. Then on to Yellowstone!

You'll arrive late morning at the world-famous Old Faithful Geyser Basin. On your own, you’ll spend time exploring the Yellowstone Caldera “supervolcano” and having lunch. Stroll on the Geyser Basin boardwalk amid the hot springs, where 25% of the world’s geysers reside. Visit the historical landmark Old Faithful Inn, opened in 1904. Check out the new Visitor’s Center which features interactive displays for kids and adults, or watch a movie that takes you right inside of a geyser! Six restaurant options are available for lunch.

Then, following the lunch break, the tour saddles back up in the van to see more mud pots and hot springs, while enjoying tales of Native American adventure and learning about extremophiles and thermophiles heading to the wondrous Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the 308-foot Lower Falls. You’ll visit Lookout Point for what your guides think is the best view in the Park. Have your camera ready!

Next, the tour passes through Hayden Valley where the buffalo DO roam! There's a quick stop at the historic Lake Hotel on Lake Yellowstone, and the group will continue to look for wildlife viewing opportunities as it heads south on the loop back to Jackson. This day's adventure covers 260 miles. Arrival back in town is around 6:30 pm.

Important:

  • This tour requires 2 persons per order.
  • You should bring/wear sunglasses, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and an extra layer or jacket. Don't forget your camera!

Customer Comments

"A most experienced tour guide. He conveyed history, geography and local lore in a most entertaining way! He included little quizzes (with prizes) to keep us involved. We were in a nine passenger van that was very comfortable and equipped with a good sound system, so we could hear well even in the very back."

"Took a full day tour to Yellowstone...so special we will remember it forever! He was extremely knowledgable, funny, full of great stories and a lovely person who made us fall in love with Yellowstone! I cannot remember having such a great tour and it was just the best day of our entire trip."

"My wife suggested we schedule a guided tour of Yellowstone due to the expanse of the park and also my ability to watch something other than the road. I nearly choked on my coffee when she told me we would be in a vehicle for eleven hours. Despite mine and my children's (13, 11, and 9-years old) grumblings, she booked the tour. Am I ever glad she did. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge! I'm not sure there's a plant, animal, land formation, body of water, or historical Yellowstone figure he doesn't know about. He provides visual aids as you wind your way through Yellowstone, stopping at all the best possible spots for photo ops. I mean the man really keeps you moving! He imparts his knowledge onto the group in an entertaining way that even captures the imagination of kids that aren't easily impressed with such things as...history. We didn't want the day to end! With a maximum of 9-10 passengers, the quaint setting allows a personal interaction. He gets to know you and you get to know him. I would recommend you brush up on a bit of Yellowstone history and you might be the recipient of prizes! We will be back."
